Apoptosis is an active programmed cell death process during the organism development, cell differentiation and pathological situation. Many studies have revealed that apoptosis is an important and normal part in plant embryo development, tracheary element formation and development of root, shoot, leaf, flower. In hypersensitive response, plants use apoptosis in response to infection by pathogens to protect the whole plant survival.
