Raf-1 protein kinase has been known as an important component of Ras/Raf-1/MAPK signaling pathway related to cell proliferation. It also may be a cross-talk point among different signal transduction pathways. This is a review about the characteristics of Raf-1 molecule, its activation and relationship with other proteins.
