The strategic and tactical advantages, principle, screening methods, achievements of RNA as a small molecule drug target were reviewed. The process of RNA maturation, transport, intracellular localization and translation are rich in RNA recognition sites that provide good opportunities for drug binding. Both RNAs and proteins are potential drug-binding sites.
