    Abstract:

The plant phototoxins are excited by absorption of light to produce singlet oxygen or radicals which damage cell membrane systems and protein or nucleic acid molecules. The excited phototoxins have a very important role in plant defensive responses to viruses, bacterium, fungus, nematodes, and plants.
