    Abstract:

Large amount of genome data has been obtained from the rapid progress of genome sequencing. Along with this trend, many new approaches for the study of protein function have been invented. A brief introduction and discussion of those methods such as domain fusion analysis, protein phylogenetic profiles, cluster analysis, protein structure analysis, insertional mutagenesis and the combined algorithm for genome-wide prediction of protein function is reviewed.
