The recent advance of the plasmodesma-associated proteins(PAPs) in plants was reviewed. The homologies between plasmodesma-associated protiens and animal gap junction connexins, the localization of PAPs,the phosphorylation of PAPs and the molecular biology of PAPs were included. The research prospects of PAPs were forecasted as well.
