蛋白质和RNA等生物大分子通过多价弱相互作用发生相分离,从而形成具有动态特性的液态凝聚体,其进一步发生相转变形成不同物质状态比如胶装或固状的凝聚体。这些凝聚体能够在细胞内对多种生命活动精确的时空调控。然而,随着对该领域研究的拓展和深入,相关术语使用的混乱和不规范问题逐渐显现,阻碍了学术交流和科学知识的传播。因此,有必要对生物大分子凝聚体相关术语进行讨论,以明确概念、促进跨学科合作、提高研究效率,从而推动生物大分子凝聚体领域的健康发展。
Biomolecular condensates are formed through phase separation of biomacromolecules such as proteins and RNAs. These condensates exhibit liquid-like properties that can futher transition into more stable material states. They form complex internal structures via multivalent weak interactions, enabling precise spatiotemporal regulations. However, the use of inconsistent and non-standardized terminology has become increasingly problematic, hindering academic exchange and the dissemination of scientific knowledge. Therefore, it is necessary to discuss the terminology related to biomolecular condensates in order to clarify concepts, promote interdisciplinary cooperation, enhance research efficiency, and support the healthy development of this field.
