It has been shown by researches on mitochondrial genome of higher plant that there are some sequences coming from nuclear or chloroplast genomes, which has been regarded as one basis for higher complexity of mitochondrial genome. Research actuality of horizontal gene transfer among mitochondria, nuclei and chloroplast in higher plant was reviewed.
