    Abstract:

Intercellular adhesion molecule-1 (ICAM-1, CD54) , which belongs to the immunoglobulin superfamily, is one of the important adhesion molecules on the cell surfaces. It can bind rhinovirus and some of the members of the integrin family and involves the developments of inflammation. commen cold, allergy and graft rejection etc. A brief review about the cell distributions , expression regulation, structure ,fuctions and clinical applications of ICAM-1 is described .
