Abstract:

TATA box binding protein (TBP),a component of RNA polymerase Ⅱ transcriptional factor TFⅡD, binds to TATA box specifically. The co-crystal structure of TBP/TATA-box complex is introduced and its role in the initiation of transcription is discussed.
