Rx (retinal homeobox) is a new gene family, which is closely correlated to the development of visual system. The expression of these genes is related to the development of eye primordia, optic vesicle, retina, forebrain and some regions of middle brain. The research of Rx genes will throw light on the regulation mechanism of development of visual system.
