    Abstract:

Glucagon-like peptide-1(GLP-1) is an important incretin hormone that secreted from intestinal L cells. Numerous studies have proven that GLP-1 increases β-cell mass through promoting β-cell proliferation and inhibiting β-cell apoptosis, besides stimulating insulin secretion. This review focuses on the molecular mechanism of GLP-1 induced β-cell protection.
